"Why," you ask? Because we want profile pages to have freedom of customization, but also to have some consistency. This way, when anyone visits a deviant, they know they can always find the art in the top left, and personal info in the top right.
Don't forget, restraints can bring out the creativity in you!

what is it with borders?
i personally dont see a reason for them apart for adding some text to identify the pictures
i considered it but couldn't really see the point.... is it worth it?
is it possible to resubmit images on devart or do i have to clear my gellery and submit the new ones all over?
A border without a text is possible also.. just looks better because you get a better contrast.. I saw noone here so far whose pictures always look great who has no border.. sure you can edit your pictures..
just open the picture and then click on edit Deviation and then click The Image
